JOCELYN A. MCCABE, APR

With more than 30 years of communications and public relations experience, Jocelyn McCabe brings a diverse mix of both public and private sector expertise to any project. Her career crosses a variety of industries, ranging from private sector companies and associations to state government and K-12 education. Most recently, she served as vice president of communications for the Association of Washington Business, Washington state’s chamber of commerce, representing more than 8,100 private employers.

Prior to that, she served as communications director for both the Association of Washington School Principals and Dr. Terry Bergeson, former state superintendent of public instruction. She has additional private PR agency experience, having worked in the tech practice of APCO Worldwide (Seattle), and public sector experience as an information officer in the Washington State House of Representatives.

Her ability to quickly assess situations, organize campaigns and, most importantly, write and communicate effectively are among her PR hallmarks.

Jocelyn holds a master’s in journalism with an emphasis on crisis communications from Michigan State University and undergraduate BA degrees in English/Creative Writing and Editorial Journalism from the University of Washington. She is Accredited in Public Relations (APR) – the industry’s “Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval” for PR practitioners — and serves as a coach and mentor to other Puget Sound PR professionals seeking to earn their accreditation.

Jocelyn and her husband, Chris, have one college-aged son. They live in Olympia where she serves on the board of TVW , Washington’s Public Affairs Network. She has previously served in leadership roles on the boards of both Olympia’s Hands On Children’s Museum and the Olympia Education Foundation.
